Last Monday, 25th of June, I had my first ever radio guesting stint ever! It’s for a leadership radio show produced by FEBC Philippines and hosted by Kuya Efren Pallorina. The show is entitled Make a Difference and will be airing at DZMR 1143 in Santiago City, Isabela beginning the first week of July.
I’m the first ever guest at the show! Isn’t that sweet? As soon as I get a copy of the audio recording, I’ll upload it and share it here.
What is this radio show all about?
Make a Difference is all about Transformational Leadership and how it can be applied in the Philippine setting. The show aims to bridge the gap between concepts and principles and their application in the Philippines. Although transformational leadership was originally conceptualized by Bernard Bass and James MacGregor Burns, it has evolved to the point where it implies that leadership should transform not just the leader but the followers, too; not just the organization, but the society as well.

In this age of social media and the web, why a radio program?
For one, FEBC Philippines is a radio company broadcasting positive message in the Philippines, mostly in AM frequency. However, this is not a deterrent to influencing people for good. Since the show will be aired in Isabela, it will cater mainly (at least initially) to leaders in the countryside. Besides, although the initial airing would be through AM radio, it will also be made available online through the website of DZMR and FEBC Philippines.
I will personally support this project, (not because I’m the first guest mind you), but because I feel that it addresses an important need in the Philippines today. Moreover, leaders need to start thinking about how they can have a greater impact in their organizations and in the society as a whole.
